PRACTICE:
Mr. Martin received his Bachelor of Science degree in
psychology (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of
Pittsburgh and his Master of Arts degree in clinical
psychology (terminal degree program) from Marshall
University, in Huntington, West Virginia.
He has been
engaged in the fulltime practice of clinical
psychology since 1979 and has experience in both
inpatient and outpatient, and profit and non-profit,
settings.
He established his private practice in West
Hamlin, in rural Lincoln County, in 1994. In June 2002, the office was moved to Hamlin. His practice provides psychotherapy for a wide variety of
problems, including: depression, anxiety disorders,
marital problems, and substance abuse disorders.
Psychological evaluations are provided for Kanawha Valley Center, West Virginia Division of Disability
Determination, West Virginia Department of Health and
Human Resources, Kanawha County and Cabell County
Public Defenders, and attorneys.
Mr. Martin accepts
West Virginia Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, PEIA,
and most other private insurance plans.
Office hours
are by appointment, 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
In 2000, Mr. Martin established Martin & Associates
Psychological Consultant Services. This is a group of
six licensed psychologists organized to provide
psychological evaluations for clients of Kanawha Valley Center, to establish diagnostic eligibility and to
provide recommendations for treatment in Lincoln,
Cabell, Putnam, Kanawha, Wayne, and Mason counties.
These psychologists also participate in treatment
planning for Kanawha Valley Center clients. He is a full member and has served as president of the West Virginia Association of Masters in Psychology.
